First Meeting Notes
Hello Movement Research group- On a first and definitely important matter of business we should come up with a catchy name for ourselves;)
Otherwise… See you on Wednesday for movie night- Following are notes from the meeting- potential links, resources and reading and notes on my impressions of the OUIJA videos. Good day!
Meeting: Wed. October 17th- First meeting, discussion of “what to, how to, when to…”
- Working on 2 levels- BRAIN/BODY RESEARCH
-It is important that for each we have a sense of purpose of objective- this could be a question or sense that we seek to articulate, but as Michael said (though now I will reword)- to have an idea of which direction to head in will give “body” to the process.
-Research can and should be done both on a personal and group level. Each of us can bring to the table what our particular interests are in relation to this project- These can be text, video, audio, idea, journal, guests, field trips etc. No limits- For the most part I think it would be best to use this blog to post and reply to these inputs- UNLESS you feel that you have found something really pertinant to the group and then say so and we will fit it in at the next group meeting or copy the text or go meet you somewhere etc.
-For the most part the “text” content will come from myself and Xin Wei- both of us bringing in ideas of movement and philosophy or movement from an esoteric standpoint. The real moving movement research will, for the most part, be “led” by Soo. Of course- anyone at any time is welcome to take leadership and suggest readings and/ or movement, media experimentation.
-To document and aid our research, the following good ideas have been suggested:
-Media aphorisms- Short videos of each experiment- these can be made as sketches in the TML and then later edited, revised and fleshed out in the Black Box or elsewhere.
-Journals- Journals are quite important to this project. They can be notes, video, audio, collage- However is good for you, but some kind of personal documentation on reflection and process throughout the project.
-Blog- Again, this can serve as a sort of group journal and please use it! Post anything and everything that you feel would be valuable to the group, and read the blog and research the links you are drawn to.
END
( present : Soo, Kiani, Rene, Michael M. Xin Wei )
